                                    China launched the Certification Alliance for Vehicles (CAV)

The core members of CAV, China Quality Certification Centre Co., Ltd. (CQC), China Certification Centre for Automotive Products Co., Ltd. (CCAP), CATARC Huacheng Certification (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. (CAQC), and CAERI Testing and Certification (Chongqing) Co., Ltd (CCARI), jointly promote the voluntary certification work of the alliance. The specific implementation is as follows：

I. Scope:

At present, the products of motor vehicles that can be certified for CAV include:

seat belts,

external lighting and light signaling devices,

indirect vision devices,

seats and headrest,

horns,

hoses,

fuel tanks,

retro reflectors,

interior trimming materials,

locks and door retention components.

II. Certification Program and procedure

1. Starting from July 1, 2024, only CAV certificates will be issued for new applications for components and products within the above-mentioned scope. The existing certificates should be replaced by CAV certificates through natural transition methods such as changing and renewal upon expiration.

2. New product application should be submitted to CAV certification bodies.

3. The applicant can transfer certification bodies with valid certificate, type test report, the latest factory inspection/supervision report, and other commissioned materials required by CAV rules.

4. CAV certificate will be valid for 10 years.
